Welcome to Fig Tree Haven.

...Liberating captives.

“…the Lord has anointed Me to bring good
news to the suffering and afflicted.
He has sent Me to comfort the broken-hearted,
To announce liberty to captives
And to open the eyes of the blind.

Isaiah 61:1

Fig Tree Haven is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization committed to helping the homeless in Hampton roads.

As our society has experienced turmoil and an erosion of family values, ethical standards, moral values and the family unit, homelessness has increased. Economic disaster and financial struggles have also contributed to the increasing number of poor and homeless people who are forced to be homeless.

Once a person is homeless there are many difficulties they might face. Living on the streets can be fatal. In addition to the obvious hazards of robbery, assault, rape, hunger and cold there are also those that are emotional and psychological such as substance abuse, alcoholism, eating disorders, severe depression and mental illness. Being abandoned and ignored these individuals are in need of love and compassion. To fill the void in the soul of sufferers with the love of God is the goal of Fig Tree Haven.

Mission Statement

  • Fig Tree Haven will be a daytime homeless shelter for those who have no place to go during the day. This nondenominational mission will provide a safe haven in an atmosphere that encourages Godly values of love, peace and joy.

  •  Fig Tree Haven will focus first on basic survival needs of food, water, shelter, clothing and health.
  • Fig Tree Haven will also provide spiritual services such as Bible teaching, counseling, weddings and burials for the homeless community.
